Is Your Group Being Subsidized?

Is your Group being subsidized? If your Group is not contributing to District, Area, Inter-Group, GSO in New York, then YES, YOUR GROUP IS BEING SUBSIDIZED - because your Group is accepting service, but letting other Groups foot the bill.

Some A.A.’s might even think that the contribution reports are in violation of our Tradition of Self-Support.

If your Group takes but never gives; if your Group takes advantage of buying literature from Inter-Group, GSO, if your Group relies on District, Inter Group and GSO to correctly list your Groups meeting information in the directory, if your Group regularly pays their rent, exchanges coin for coffee but looks on the contributions to the service structure as a “luxury” then your Group is not Self-Supporting.

Newly founded Groups that cannot afford it are not expected to contribute, but, let’s be honest - how many of these Groups have we?
